Delhi University Releases Extensive E-Book Collection and Digital Archive to Mark Centenary Celebrations

In conjunction with its centenary celebrations, Delhi University released its e-book collection and digital archive on Tuesday. The collection has over 17 lakh documents, including books, prints, magazines, monographs, theses, and other resources.

The DULS, known for its extensive collection, has added topic collections from nine reputable publishers this year, including Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, Bloomberg, SAGE Publishing, Taylor & Francis, Elsevier, Springer Nature, and Wiley Online Books.

Eighty-three thousand e-books, digital archives, and a topic collection have all been added to the library's collection of resources.

During the launch, Yogesh Singh, vice chancellor of the University of Delhi, remarked that libraries are crucial to university life. E-resources have brought about a significant alteration in the present. Many educators were uncomfortable with the idea of e-journals when it first emerged, but attitudes have since shifted. E-journals and printed journals are identical to one another. It's just a vehicle. With the advancement of technology and the times, we must alter our perspective.

Singh continued by saying that the university has approved a sum of Rs 110 crore for the library's development.

"The last 20 to 30 years, the internet has significantly altered how people work. Mobile payment methods like UPI have revolutionized the financial industry. India has become the world's top nation for UPI transactions. To enable access to library resources from anywhere, Singh noted that comparable changes must be made to the library system.
